I sit here in the university library, by the lucid wall that reveals the world outside, struggling to spell out words for a persuasive essay. I watch as the sun poured its light over the Wascana Lake, the leafless trees and evergreens, the city of Regina all covered with snow. Nature never fails to amaze me, really.
My watch flashes 17:31, the sun has cleared from the horizon, twilight has taken over the city. Fluorescent lamps overhead has stolen the spotlight from the sun, giving emphasis to the things inside the library. I stare at the glass wall/window, two overlapping sceneries appearing: first, the faint sketch of downtown Regina and the city lights, the light from lampposts outside the library and headlights of cars passing by; and second, a reflection of myself with a laptop while being surrounded by shelves of books, looking bored, scared, ugly, and beautiful, too.
It’s a nice way to reflect, looking through and at the glass.
Now I’m back to worrying about persuading people to believe in me. >.<
